Meet the Team

Christy & Linda Smith

Pastor Christy Smith and his wife Linda are leaders who have been serving Brighton Elim with a great leadership team. Originally from Dublin, Ireland, they have made the United Kingdom their home since 1990.

In addition to their pastoral responsibilities, Christy and Linda serve as first responder Chaplains, bringing comfort and support to those experiencing trauma after disaster. Their extensive experience in Trauma and Humanitarian Aid has equipped them with a deep understanding of the challenges individuals face during difficult times.
Both Christy and Linda have a passion to create a welcoming and inclusive environment at Brighton Elim. With three grown up boys and nine grandchildren they have a love and desire for families within the community.

Alan & Tina Tant

Alan and Tina head up our children’s ministries and are part of our senior church leadership team. Having been involved with children and youth ministries since they too were teenagers, at our church, they lead with passion and experience to make sure we have a vibrant and inclusive programme for all children and teenagers.

Working also for a local charity, Kidz Klub Brighton and Hove, Tina as Office Manager and Alan as CEO, they share the vision to bring the gospel to all children and young people across the city and equipping local churches to reach their own communities.

Safeguarding is at the core of our church ethos and Alan & Tina serve as our Safeguarding leads to make sure everyone remains safe and we are compliant with all laws and regulations.

With two adult children, Louis and Keeley, they are all too well aware of the challenges of parenting and are more than happy to work with parents on any specific additional needs that many children experience.

When not involved in working with children Tina loves nothing more than taking part in Pilates, spin classes and various craft activities. Alan also loves spin classes but is an avid fan of Brighton & Hove Albion and would happily watch any sport given the time! Walking their dog Milo is a great way to relax and to get out and about.

We look forward to meeting you sometime soon!
